Radiant heat, in the form of infrared radiation, is the primary source of heat transfer. A reflective insulator such as Insu Reflector is a radiant heat reflective insulation material that is made of polyethylene air bubble film (ABF). This bubble film is laminated with aluminum foil on either one or both sides. It helps in effectively blocking the radiant heat transfer because of its low e-reflective material and low mass to air ratio. The Aluminium foil with its bright surface which encases the FR polyethylene air bubble film material, reflects 96% to 99% infra-red radiation received by the surface of the heated slated roof.
The high-performance reflective insulation produced by foil faced bubble wrap insulation such as InsuReflector, therefore, reflects up to 97% of the radiant energy that comes into contact with its surface. In addition, it retains heat indoors and reduces or prevents the formation of ice dams and condensation that can damage roofs during the winter.
